Saw this zebra cake recipe in Bisous À Toi and find the recipe quite simple. So, gave it a try this morning.
The cake turned out to be moist and light. And I'm going to make it again because my choosy eaters loved it.
Thanks Rima for sharing. :)
Ingredients : ( I made half the recipe )
( A )
4 large eggs
125g sugar
1/2 tbsp emulsifier
1/4 tsp salt
( B )
125g plain flour
25g milk powder
( sifted together twice )
( C )
25g butter - melted
25g fresh milk
( D )
38g butter - melted
1 tbsp coffee mix - mix with 2 tbsp hot water
1/2 tbsp chocolate paste
Method :
Preheat steamer, grease and line an 8 inch round pan with baking paper.
Beat ( A ) till thick and fluffy.
Add in sifted ( B ), mix well and divide into 2 equal parts.
Add ( C ) to one part and add ( D ) to another part, mix well.
Scoop 2 heap tbsps of plain and chocolate batter alternately till finish.
Steam on medium high heat for 35 minutes or till skewer comes out clean.
Let the cake stand for 5 minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool.
