Fried Anchovies With Taucu

This dish goes very well with rice and porridge. Very flavorful indeed.

Ingredients :

1 rice bowl of anchovies - washed
1 large onion - peeled and sliced
2 heap tbsps taucu
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsps sugar
( mixed together )
3 tbsps oil
1/2 cup water - optional

Method :

Preheat wok without oil and stir fry anchovies to remove excess water.
Dish up and set aside.

Then, preheat oil in wok.
Put the anchovies back into wok and fry till lightly browned and crispy.

Add in sliced onions and stir fry for about 3 minutes.

Add in taucu mixed with garlic and sugar and stir fry for about 5 minutes or till it smells fragrant.
At this stage, u can dish up and serve.
( Anchovies and onions are more crunchy without adding water )

Finally, add in water, mix till well combined and bring to boil.
Dish up and serve with rice or porridge.

{ My kids like to add the sauce into their rice and porridge, :) }

Yummy..
