Marbled Chocolate Banana Cake

When I first saw this recipe from Nasi Lemak Lover, I knew at once that my kids will love it. A great combination idea with banana and chocolate.

So, finally baked it this morning. Didn't follow exactly the whole recipe having shortage of this and surplus of that, hee hee. But the cake turned out to be very moist and rich in chocolaty flavour.

Ingredients :

150g butter ( I used salted Anchor butter )
80g caster sugar
2 large eggs
160g cake flour
1 tsp vanilla essence ( original is 1/2 tsp )
1 tsp baking powder ( original is double action baking powder )
220g mashed banana ( pisang berangan ) ( original is 180g )
1 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp chocolate chips

Method :

Sift cake flour and baking powder together twice.

Beat butter with sugar till pale and fluffy.

Add in eggs, one at a time and vanilla essence. Mix evenly.

Fold in flour, mashed banana and chocolate chips.

Divide into 2 portions, add cocoa powder into 1 portion.

Pour cake mixture into a lightly greased 7 inch round cake pan with base covered with baking paper.
Then make a marble effect on the cake mixture.
Bake in a preheated oven with 180C, ( bottom heat ) for 45 mins or skewer comes out clean.

Stand few minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool.

YUMMY
